Welcome to Chopin's International Music Festival

The annual International Chopin‘s Festival held every third August week in a lovely spa Marienbad where Fryderyk Chopin used to stay, lasts eight days and since the beginning the Chopin‘s Festival was organized as a universal cultural event that represents an exhibition of different arts. Leading Chopin‘s interpreters from the Czech Republic as well as from abroad are invited to perform here. The Chopin‘s festival concept that includes three symphony concerts, recitals, nocturne, matinée and special concerts in the Colonnade as well as in other places of the town, is being kept successfully up to the present day.

The 46th Chopin's Festival will be held from August 20th to 27th, 2005.

Another important part of Chopin's Festival is the International Piano Competition in order to find talented young Chopin interpreters.

Coming to Marienbad for this unique music event, you should not miss Fryderyk Chopin's Memorial residing at the Chopin House on the 2nd floor at Hlavni 47 street. The Memorial was opened in 1960. The first exhibition part displays Chopin‘s life (1810 - 1849) and his stay in Bohemia. In the second part of the Memorial you will find an exhibition of Fryderyk Chopin‘s Society activities as a part of the International Federation of Fryderyk Chopin Societies, as well as other editorial and exhibition activities. In the Concert Hall you are invited to view graphics and bibliophilic prints by important Czech graphic artists. To “experience” Fryderyk Chopin entirely, your every step in the Fryderyk Chopin Memorial is always accompanied by recorded Chopin‘s music.
