Chateau Jemniste, Central Bohemia

The Baroque chateau Jemniste was built according to a design by F. M. Kanka for Frantisek Adam of Trauttmansdorff at the beginning of the 18th century.  After a 1754 fire Jemniste chateau was renovated in the Rococo style. The chateau Jemniste is a two-story building with an elegant gable with a balcony which highlights the entry to the chateau. The chateau Jemniste is surrounded by a romantic English park, originally composed in the French style. The historical interiors feature period furnishings and collections from the 17th through the 19th century (the chateau Salons, the Dancing Hall, and never missing the Knights‘ Halls with Gothic decorations).  The Chapel of St. Joseph was decorated by works of V. V. Reiner, F. A. Scheffler, and M. B. Braun.
