International Music Festival of Jiri Lobkowitz
(classical music)An interesting program for classical music as well as opera lovers held at the premises of Melnik Castle. It makes a nice trip together with the castle tour and wine tasting produced at Jiri Lobkowitz vineyards.

Jicin – the Capital of Fairy Tale
(children)The 18th year of the cultural festival devoted to children and the world of fairy-tales, the largest festival of its kind in Europe. On top of a whole array of theatre performances and cinema screenings, the program will include many artists’ workshops, games, tournaments, competitions, and exhibitions located at the historical centre of the town. There is no admission charge at most of the events. Combine your fairytale visit to Jicin with a visit to the romantic landscape of the Czech Paradise region. A perfect trip for the whole family. Concours de Saut International Officiel - W
(horses)International riding races, the most significant riding event of 2008 in the territory of the Czech Republic. There are competitions of teams and individuals, and hurdles from 130 to 160 cm. Tabor Meetings
(event)The 17th year of the traditional festival inspired by the Hussites movement that is very closely connected with the town’s history. Historical centre, sinuous streets and lots of green areas behind the fortification walls come alive for three days together with ancient history of the first half of the 15th century. The program menu is inexhaustible – a parade in period costumes, concerts of medieval, spiritual and contemporary music, open air theatres, exhibitions, medieval food and drink tasting, games and competitions for children and lots more. An original event!

Falconry and Hunting Dogs

Autumn Potters Market
(hobby)The 12th year of the most prestigious pottery and ceramic product fair in the Czech Republic. The Autumn Potters` Market is a part of the celebrations to mark the Days of European Heritage. Around 200 potters from the Czech Republic and abroad will take over Hus Square for two days showing their arts. This year theme is dedicated to Garden Decorations. The best products are judged by a jury. The Beroun potters` market is accompanied by a rich programme of cultural events.

Melnik Vintage
(wine)3 days festivities of wine accompanied by a rich cultural program. You can meet a suite of the Emperor Charles IV., enjoy music and theatre performances, learn more on folk crafts, while tasting new wine. The event will be closed by fireworks. Take a chance to visit Melnik Castle with the Lobkowicz wine cellar.

Garden of Bohemia

Goose Fest
(celebration)A goose business became very successful on the turn of 19th and 20th centuries when the Jews from Boskovice exported their fed geese on the Viennese market and other Austrian towns. This tradition is now held in the form of traditional goose fests where a visitor can taste any possible gourmet speciality made of goose meat as well as buy products using goose feathers.

Vintage of Karlstejn
